The Scent Restaurant and Wine Bar

“Taipei. Daan”
Located near Linjiang Street Night Market
Tucked away in Taipei’s Da’an District, this restaurant and wine bar has been in business for nearly a decade.
Whether it’s the decor or the music, both can quickly immerse me into the atmosphere.
The meal left me utterly amazed!

The rich #CoconutPumpkinSoup carries a special aroma.
We also ordered the #BlackGarlicChickenSoup ~
The tender chicken meat pairs beautifully with the subtly sweet chicken soup.
Warming up the stomach for the main course to come!

“The Tainan” may not catch your eye at first glance, but come the weekend, you’ll find a long queue for Tainan’s culinary gem, the “Dew Chicken”.

Last time I passed by Liuying, I noticed this place was packed with people, which inexplicably made it the next restaurant on my list to try – Liuying Dew Chicken. It’s crazy! They open at 10:30 and by around 11, there was already a considerable queue outside. It was a Sunday, and they don’t take reservations on holidays. Plus, there’s parking available nearby!
⚠️No reservations accepted on holidays.
⚠️ Please wait to be seated, do not take a seat directly.
⚠️No alcoholic beverages are sold in the store.
⚠️Pets are not allowed inside.
⚠️Restaurant is completely smoke-free
Seeing the last restaurant completely ban smoking, it reminded me of an interesting photo shared by a netizen online. The owner had posted a sign on the wall that read, “If someone smokes, the air conditioning gets turned off.” Quite a character, this owner! 😂
Back to the main topic, let’s talk about his food!

“Drink Recommendation” Cool off this summer with a cup of Lychee Oolong tea paired with a rice cake. It’s not only thirst-quenching but also satisfyingly filling.

RecommendedDrinks
One day, a friend handed me a drink and asked me to try this beverage he recommended, believing that I would fall in love with it at the first sip.
The first sip tasted quite sweet, and before I knew it, I was taking one sip after another…
This cup, named “Lychee Oolong + Pink Rice Cake,” costs $60.
Actually, the sugar has been removed! But the sweetness of the lychee is still there, and surprisingly, it pairs quite well with the sweeter and softer rice cake.👍👍
The rice cake doesn’t taste sweet to me, but it’s incredibly soft and chewy. If you’re someone who enjoys a good bite, you’ll find yourself continuously taking one mouthful after another. I wonder if adding these rice cakes to milk tea would be equally amazing. 🤤🤤
There aren’t many branches in Kaohsiung, only three in fact, located in Sanduo, Lingya, and Nanzi. #YiMuRi is a beverage shop that originated from Taichung, starting right from Yizhong Street!

“Kaohsiung Fengshan” – A Late-Night Café Serving Delicious Souffles and Generous Portions of Honeycomb, They’re Not Afraid You’ll Overeat!

I thought I was going to have to head into the city again, but to my surprise, it’s actually in Fengshan. 😍
The place seems to have opened not long ago, with quite a new decor. It’s not a large space, but the key point is that it’s open until 11:00 PM, which is quite rare for a café in Fengshan to stay open that late!
It’s so convenient to arrange a food hunt with friends 😂
🐝Beehive Lemon Sparkling Drink $150
What’s unique is that there’s an entire piece of honeycomb on top of the drink that you can eat. However, I find the honeycomb too sweet for my liking.

“Chain-style Hong Kong cuisine in Kaohsiung’s Sanmin District – Steamed Fresh Rice Rolls, a great choice for family gatherings.”

SteamedRiceRoll Every time I’ve only passed by without ever stepping in. This day, I decided to give it a try and found out it’s a Hong Kong-style restaurant. The interior decor is quite nice, making it a suitable place for group dining. That day, the four of us ordered so much food that we filled the table, which drew a lot of attention to us. It was a bit awkward. 😅
Turns out, it’s really too much to finish. For a person with a normal appetite, about 500 per person is more than enough to get full. 😂

Venture into the woods and enjoy a relaxing meal with the mountain’s specialty at “DongShanLaoJiaKaFei”.

DongShanLaoJiaKaFei Located in Dongshan District, Tainan, you need to traverse a mountain road to get there. The lady boss is extremely friendly, making you feel like you’re dining at your own home. The coffee chicken soup comes highly recommended online. Not sure if it’s because I drink coffee too often, but I found it to be just okay. 😂
But that bowl of soup is really brimming with caffeine, isn’t it? 🤔
But! I still managed to discover other delicious finds. 😂
Those who dare to indulge in fatty meat can try the Coffee Control Pork for $300.
This dish pairs well with rice, it’s a common homemade dish, and it’s photogenic too! 😂
The unique Wild Vegetable Coffee Salad is priced at $150. The salad on top is quite special, carrying a hint of coffee flavor. It’s distinctive, not overpowering, and refreshingly well-matched. Thumbs up!

Miaoli delicacy “Houlong Haolai Xiang Beef Noodles, highly recommended by locals, the beef noodles that made the owner exclaim ‘Please don’t recommend it anymore!'”

The beef noodles that my dad always craves. Whenever I ask him what he wants to eat, he always mentions those Houlong beef noodles. 😂
After much talk, I’ve finally made it here, even though my dad has already visited three times this month 🤫🤫.
The braised dishes are stewed in a large pot, ensuring a rich flavor. You can pick whatever you want, and the boss will directly plate it up for you!
The beef noodles have a good amount of beef tendon, giving it a nice chewy texture. The soup base is rich but not greasy, and the noodles are firm, not mushy. Adding some chili oil makes it even more delicious. The best part? A small bowl is only $90, and a large one is $120! (The photo shows the small bowl. P.S. The small bowl is filling enough, especially if you want to save room for braised snacks. 😂)
Just a little secret, when we arrived there before 11 o’clock, it was already fully seated 🤫.
I heard they sell out every day by the afternoon!
Only the locals truly know the taste of their own land.

The newly released “Hong Kong Style Milk Tea Ice Cream with Pork” from Dim Dim Sum is quite tasty.

Founded by artist Liu Junwei, the Weidou Group owns popular Hong Kong-style dim sum restaurant “Dim Dim Sum” and Taipei’s top shrimp rice restaurant “Zhongqing Commercial”. “MuShangJueShi” – A Brunch Spot in Kaohsiung

MuShangJueShi – A photogenic brunch spot located near Mingji Road in the Sanmin District, close to Dale in Kaohsiung. Don’t be fooled by its small size, it’s packed during meal times!
🔔 It’s self-service here, so you’ll need to order and pick up your food at the counter!
🍞French Truffle Cream Stewed Chicken Leg $310
His specialty seems to be bread, which is incredibly soft. Dipping it in the creamy stewed chicken leg on the side is absolutely delicious. 😋
🍞 Old-School Mexican Baked Meat Sauce $290
Just the sight of baked dishes makes us irresistibly want to order them. 😂
For the side dish, you can choose between soup or yogurt. We opted for the thick soup, which tasted great when dipped with bread. We even daringly tried dipping it with our baked dish, and it surprisingly paired well too! 😂
It seems we really love dipping bread in soup🤣🤣🤣
🔔You can redeem 40 yuan off your drink with any meal purchase!
PS: He also has a branch in the Gushan District on Yu Cheng Road, where there’s a giant toast at the entrance. It’s a great spot for influencers to take photos. Personally, I think the branch is even more beautiful. 😂
