At midnight, I wanted to go eat ramen, but I found the ramen shops too far away, so I had to choose a nearby option. Since I live near the Hachijoguchi exit of Kyoto Station, Nakau is the most convenient choice for me.
Speaking of which, when you’re about to faint, never go to a vending machine, or else you’ll end up doing something as foolish as I did… As usual, I walked into my favorite chain restaurant, Nakau, and set my sights on the Duck Tsuke Udon (Japanese: 鴨つけ うどん).
I picked up a ¥500 coin and tried to insert it into the vending machine.
Huh, why won’t it go in? I tried twice, but it still wouldn’t go in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ A crow flew by ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Why is the coin slot in this place different… Oh, this is for inserting bills, isn’t it? It was only then that I realized I was being silly… XD.
But it was too late, it got stuck~ In the end, I had to ask the staff to come and help me open it and retrieve the ¥500…
(I really wanted to crawl into a hole at that moment~).
This is the embarrassing Duck Tsuke Udon that made me lose face, priced at ¥490.
The portion of noodles is quite generous.
This is the sauce for dipping noodles~ You can see a layer of oil on top, which is duck oil.
This sauce has some slices of duck meat, and also two meatballs.
This should be able to be dipped in sauce, with chopped green onions and pomelo.
Put the noodles into the soup and then scoop them out to eat. It’s so delicious!
The aroma of duck oil is amazing, but it’s also very oily.
Halfway through eating, I added some chopped green onions and pomelo to enhance the fragrance~
Above is a simple article about Duck Tsuke Udon memo from Nakau~
This Duck Tsuke Udon is only available for a limited time, so you can only try it if you happen to come across it. Lucky for me, I had the chance to taste it.
