Hakodate Station Delicacies – Kaiten-Sushi Nemuro Hanamaru Hakodate – Just a 1-minute walk from Hakodate Station

Since the closure of Kaiten-Sushi Nemuro Hanamaru at New Chitose Airport, I haven’t had the chance to enjoy this sushi chain for quite some time.
This time, staying near Hakodate Station, I found a Kaiten-Sushi Nemuro Hanamaru right across the street.
So, I decided to give it a try.
Kaiten-Sushi Nemuro Hanamaru is located in the “Kiralis Hakodate” building, B1 floor.

Thinking that the cold weather would mean fewer people eating sushi,
I was wrong, the place was still bustling with customers.
Waited 30 minutes to get a seat T_T

The menu is super stylish but quite hard to understand XD

Although it’s a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, you can order sushi not available on the rotating belt directly from the chef.
You just need to use the order card (注文カード) below to place your order.
Write down what you want to eat, hand it to the sushi chef, and that’s it.

Additionally, the prices for each plate are marked on the side, ranging from ¥130 to ¥420, but note that these are pre-tax prices.

This plate is a yellow plate ¥180.

Tamagoyaki ¥130

Squid ¥180

Different squid, topped with “mountain wasabi”, which is different from regular wasabi.
This plate is ¥230.

Flounder ¥230 per plate.

Tuna tartare, a must-order every time I visit a sushi restaurant, ¥130.

Sweet shrimp, ¥130.

Chawanmushi, ¥230.
Hokkaido’s chawanmushi is a bit sweet, which I’m not quite used to.

Raw scallops, ¥420.
Delicious, highly recommended!

Sea urchin, ¥420.

Tonkotsu soup, a large bowl.
It’s actually Hanasaki crab miso soup.
However, the crab meat was a bit dry and tough.
I remember the tekkotsu soup I had years ago had much fresher crab meat…

This plate, I forgot what fish it was, but the seared part was pretty good, ¥270.

Ordered another tuna tartare.

Lean tuna, ¥420.
Delicious.

Fried chicken, ¥180.
Cheap, but a bit salty.

Tempura, ¥420.

Finally, the table was a mess after finishing…

A total of 18 plates.

Receipt.

Total: ¥5683

That’s the dining experience at Nemuro Hanamaru Sushi in front of Hakodate Station.

Personal Food Rating: ★★★☆ (3.3)
Comments:
Although I don’t often eat at Nemuro Hanamaru Sushi, both experiences have been quite good.
The sushi is delicious, but the tekkotsu soup was a bit disappointing, lacking meat.
Additionally, the chawanmushi was just too sweet.

Rating Criteria:
Five stars: Super delicious; would definitely buy again. If available in Taiwan, would buy it there too.
Four stars: Tasty; would eat again if visiting Japan.
Three stars: Not bad; good to try once.
Two stars: Average; worth trying for the taste.
One star: Never again (potential disaster)
