Ise, Mie Prefecture – Okaga Yokocho Food – Butasute

There is a beef bowl restaurant in Okaga Yokocho called “Butasute”. The name is really unique. Does it mean that the food is so delicious that people don’t want to eat pork? Of course, this is not the true origin… The above is purely a legend. In fact, the original owner of Butasute, “Shekichi”, used to raise pigs. Later, he stopped raising pigs and became a beef merchant, hence the name “Butasute”.

I heard that the most famous dish at Butasute is the Croquette. However, I am more excited about the beef bowl. When I first arrived, some people were lining up to buy Croquettes.

The interior of Butasute is all made of wood.

One famous dish is the Croquette, of course, you must try it~ And it even comes with vegetables, how heartwarming~ It costs ¥80.

Open it up and take a look~ The Croquette here belongs to the potato type, which is different from the usual coin-shaped ones. Therefore, it has a more solid texture and the taste is not bad. But if you ask me to describe it, I really can’t find the words~ However, I feel that compared to Nakamuraya’s Croquette, they seem to be on par with each other~

Everyone, this is beef bowl~ It’s really not the same as braised pork rice~ Although I feel that beef bowl is to Japan, what braised pork rice is to Taiwan~ ¥1100

The beef bowl at Butasute is different from the ones you usually eat at Sukiya and Yoshinoya. The beef has more fat and is thicker. When cooking, it feels like it’s simmered in a rich soy sauce for a long time… but the meat is not tough. And the sweetness of the sauce paired with white rice, it really goes well together.

So many onions~

This bowl is really appetizing~

Finally, of course, it’s time to finish the meal~

Above is the process of consuming Butasute. Now, let’s rate this restaurant.

Personal food rating: ★★★★ (4)
Comment:
Just a bowl of beef bowl is not enough, you have to add a Croquette. If you usually go to Japan, you must try different flavors of beef bowl from the chain stores. I think it’s much tastier than the previous beef bowl bento.

Rating Criteria:
Five stars: Super delicious; after eating, it will make you want to go back for more.
Four stars: Delicious; after eating, you’ll feel satisfied, but it won’t leave a lasting impression.
Three stars: Not bad; if you happen to be nearby, it’s worth a try.
Two stars: Average; if you want to play it safe, you can give it a go.
One star: Not my cup of tea; potential disappointment.
