[Kyoto Ramen] The Kairikiya Ramen with Back Fat Soy Sauce

I have a feeling of walking into a “men’s school” when I enter kairikiya Ramen. I wonder if I have to pass the “oil bath” test before eating a bowl of ramen?! kairikiya Ramen originated from Kyoto and there are actually many different flavors of ramen in Kyoto. kairikiya belongs to the fatty soy sauce-based ramen, which is different from the commonly seen soy sauce ramen. If you haven’t tried it before, you can give it a try.

The restaurant I came to eat at is a branch located in Sanjo, Kawaramachi.

They have a wide variety of condiments available inside the store.

And there are cucumbers that I love to eat.

Spicy Miso

Kurume House, like Ichiran, allows customization of noodle firmness, scallion quantity, oiliness, and spiciness. However, in terms of ordering, it is not as convenient as Ichiran, which offers checkboxes. Therefore, for those who are not familiar with Japanese, it may be a bit more troublesome~

Menu.

Popular Choice: Fried Rice Set Meal for ¥880, I’ll go with this one!

Fried rice is served first, and it looks pretty good, with each grain well-cooked.

I ordered the regular ramen because I was afraid of getting the slightly firm noodles like I did at Ichiran, which didn’t have a good texture. So this time, I chose the regular flavor with normal noodle firmness, scallion amount, and oil content. And no chili pepper added.

The amount of oil in this dish is average, but it feels so rich and flavorful.

The texture of the noodles is pretty good~ It doesn’t have a hard feeling.

When it comes to char siu, it’s just average without any special flavor.

Bamboo shoots, it’s rare to find ramen with bamboo shoots.

Finally, it’s time to finish eating~

Comment:
Kuraikiya is a rising ramen shop in recent years. It belongs to the fatty soy sauce style, similar to Bao Wu Ramen. However, its fishy taste is milder than the Bao Wu Ramen I had before. The fried rice is not particularly outstanding, but still good. After finishing a portion, I feel really full… Additionally, Feitian Little Witch previously released their Kyujo Green Onion Ramen.
