I recently discovered a newly opened Italian bistro, “Here Bistro”, located on Zhongcheng Road Section 2, in the Tianmu Shilin area. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a small gathering with a few friends to enjoy some good food, or for a romantic date. It’s conveniently located near Takashimaya and Tianmu Baseball Stadium, making it an ideal place to continue the celebration after a baseball game.
The spacious setting doesn’t make you feel oppressed or crowded. The deep blue wall design, paired with the lighting and furniture color scheme, gives off a lively yet sophisticated vibe of an Italian restaurant. Of course, in light of pandemic prevention, the restaurant has also placed a real-name registration and alcohol temperature measurement at the entrance. Everyone should dutifully adhere to the pandemic prevention measures while dining out!
The seating arrangement varies from tables for two, four, to long tables that can accommodate six to eight people, making it flexible for different dining purposes and groups to allocate seats and space.
On the other end, there’s a design featuring high tables and glass display cabinets, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a casual drink and chat session among two or three friends abroad. Stepping onto the high stools, coupled with the simple wall design, it becomes a favorite spot for social media influencers to check-in. In particular, the lighting at “Here Bistro” Italian restaurant and wine bar is exceptionally bright and photogenic.
In reality, “Here Bistro” doesn’t have an overly complex design, but it does hide some clever touches. Through the use of oil paintings and lighting, it exudes a certain charm. The painting on the wall not only incorporates elements of Italian pizza, but it also hides a cute easter egg – “ONE PIECE”. You can try to find it – haha!
At “Here Bistro”, the Italian bistro menu features a selection of pizzas and pastas carefully curated by the head chef. The basic flavors are quite reasonably priced for the Tienmu area. However, if you wish to sample dishes with more upscale ingredients, the special flavors offer their own relative cost-performance ratio.
It’s worth mentioning that the appetizer salad at “Here Bistro” is served in a portion size for two, making it a generous serving perfect for sharing.
As an Italian-style bistro, the provision of alcoholic beverages and accompanying snacks here at “This Bistro” is certainly not taken lightly. We offer sweet and slightly intoxicating Chardonnay for those who prefer a light buzz, as well as draft beer for those who fancy a casual drink or a hearty swig. Our beer selection primarily features Asahi beer, including both white and dark beer. If you’re in a large group, we also offer a 3000cc beer tower to ensure everyone gets their fill in one go. Because “dry” is a kind of clean and crisp expression, it makes the beer relatively smoother to drink, without the sticky feeling of hops, making it quite refreshing.

The crisp romaine lettuce is substantial, accompanied by tomatoes, corn, and large slices of smoked salmon. Topped with cheese and balsamic vinegar dressing, it’s quite appetizing. In this era when greens are pricey, seeing such a large portion of vegetables can be quite touching.
The smoked salmon is spot on in terms of texture. The smooth and silky salmon, with its smoky and salty flavor, pairs perfectly with lettuce. The combination is simply divine! Paired with the fruity aroma of black vinegar, the dish strikes a balance between sweet and salty. Since the black vinegar isn’t sour, it doesn’t overpower the aroma of the salmon, making for a perfectly harmonious pairing.

The incredibly hard-to-book spicy hot pot restaurant【Zhongshan District, Taipei】Xin Dian Hotpot – Songjiang Branch
In early November, due to a friend’s birthday, I came across numerous foodie groups highly recommending Xindian on the internet. Thinking that a birthday celebration for my friend should be nothing short of spectacular, I immediately made a reservation. As many online reviews had warned, it was indeed challenging to get through on the phone! Just when I was about to give up after numerous attempts, the call finally went through. Phew! Luckily, I managed to secure a reservation, or else it would have been me letting the side down. And so, our party arrived at Xindian in full force to celebrate the birthday~ (I later found out that Xindian also accepts online reservations, so no more endless phone calls~ Xindian online reservation-)
