Located in the east, Hualien is arguably the top choice for travelers seeking to unwind and enjoy breathtaking views. This land, brimming with natural beauty, attracts a large number of visitors each year who come to explore its wonders. On this trip, our group of six was fortunate enough to stay at the highly praised “Lakeshore Hotel Hualien Taroko”. Here, I’ll share my thoughts and experiences from our stay, hoping to provide some insights for future visitors.
▼Our party of six booked two different types of rooms at Lakeshore Hotel Hualien Taroko: a four-person room in the Serenity and a two-person room in the The Moment Hotel Hualien by Lakeshore. All I can say is that it was an excellent decision. Both pavilions have their unique charm, and we had the freedom to move around as we pleased.

▼I haven’t felt this relaxed and satisfied with accommodation in Taiwan for a long time! Let me first share about the room and the surrounding environment. The bathroom and toilet are separate, the bathtub is super large, and the shower room is separated for dry and wet areas. Although you have to walk to the neighboring building “Tranquil” for breakfast and the swimming pool, it doesn’t affect the quality of the stay at all.

The lobby on the first floor exudes a Japanese aesthetic, clean and bright. Off to the side, there’s a “Tea House” area for tea tasting. There’s also my favorite, the “Book Store”. Kick off your shoes and settle into a sofa, where you can enjoy some alone time, quietly reading a book. Overall, the Serenity doesn’t have the occasional hustle and bustle of a typical hotel lobby. Instead, it offers a sense of tranquility and openness.

▼Each room and the elevator area feature large glass windows, offering unobstructed views of the ocean and mountains. You can easily enjoy the unbeatable sunrise over the Pacific Ocean right from your room. How delightful!

The breakfast here is incredibly diverse, and the best part is that it’s available from 6:30 in the morning until 1:30 in the afternoon. This is the longest breakfast service I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The meal is so satisfying that you can even skip lunch and head out to enjoy your day!

The bed and pillows were beyond reproach. Even family members with sleep issues had a good night’s rest. We later discovered that the hotel website actually had links for purchasing pillows and mattresses. We immediately bought some pillows, and they were not expensive at all!

This recent stay has convinced my family to make it an annual tradition to revisit this place. The Lakeshore Hotel Hualien Taroko is conveniently located near various attractions, making it easy to access both the mountains and the sea. Activities such as the Shakadang Trail, Qixingtan, Clearwater Cliffs SUP, river tracing, and beach cars are all nearby. The hotel is right next to the Manbo Beach, and a mere five-minute walk will allow you to enjoy the sunrise and sunset! In the picturesque Hualien, staying in a hotel of such quality means you won’t get bored even if you don’t have any plans. Plus, you can fully enjoy the infinity pool!
