Hokkaido Accommodation – JR Inn Asahikawa – Next to JR Asahikawa Station, Aeon downstairs, all rooms with Simmons beds, and a variety of pillows to choose from

Although JR is a transportation company, they have built many hotels next to major stations across Japan.
The JR Inn Asahikawa we stayed at this time may not be a five-star hotel, but it is stylishly designed, simple, and clean.
All rooms use Simmons mattresses and offer a variety of pillows for guests to choose from.
Additionally, it is conveniently located with an Aeon supermarket downstairs, making shopping easy, which is why it is loved by many.

Exterior of JR Inn Asahikawa

Due to our itinerary, we stayed here twice.

Located next to Asahikawa Station, JR Inn Asahikawa is also next to Aeon, with a supermarket and cinema downstairs.
It’s really convenient for dining and shopping

Hotel Facilities

This includes restrooms and washing machines.

Laundry room, each door has a different design.
If you see a clothes design, it means there’s a washing machine.

Inside, there’s a washer-dryer combo.
It’s not free, but you don’t need to bring your own detergent.

There are free functional pillows available (not to be taken home).

This is the reading lounge.

There are books, magazines, and drinks available.

Comics and books.

Tea bags, paper cups, sugar packets, creamer, and trash can.

There are six flavors, quite a variety.

Vending machine, ice maker, and microwave.
This is on the way to the large public bath.

Twin Room – 24㎡

This is the room we stayed in on the first night, a twin room (ツインルーム).
The area is 24㎡, not small.
The TV is a 32-inch screen, and there’s also a humidifier air purifier.
The beds are 120 cm wide single beds, two of them.

There are sockets and an alarm clock at the head of the bed.

It feels larger than 24㎡ because the space is quite ample.

There are chargers and network cables in the desk drawer.

Below is a fridge and a hot water kettle.

The fridge was originally empty, the items inside are what we bought from the supermarket downstairs.

Bathroom.

The bathroom in the twin room type has a bathtub.

Very simple content.

Hotel Breakfast

The hotel provides meal vouchers for the café downstairs.
The next morning, we went to this café downstairs for breakfast.

You can choose one item and pair it with a drink.

I chose iced coffee and simple toast.

Ordinary iced coffee.

The toast was simple but quite tasty.
It’s somewhat similar to French toast, but the filling seems to be a mix of egg and milk.
As someone who isn’t a gourmet, I really can’t tell.

Supermarket Downstairs

Additionally, the supermarket downstairs at the hotel offers a wide variety of items.
You can find drinks, instant noodles, and delicatessen—everything you need.
Since I stayed at JR Inn Asahikawa on the last night of my trip,
I bought all the food and daily necessities for home here.
I even bought the train bento for my last day heading to New Chitose Airport here.

There are plenty of delicatessen.

Finally, the receipt for this day shows the room rate was ¥14,800. Since it was a weekday, the price was relatively cheaper.

This concludes the brief introduction to the Twin Room at JR Inn Asahikawa, along with the restaurant and supermarket downstairs.

Economy Twin Room – 17㎡

Below is the Economy Twin Room.
The room area is only 17㎡, which feels a bit small.
The beds are two single beds, each 110 cm wide.

The bedside table has a similar design.

Below it is a small refrigerator.

The TV is also 32 inches, and there’s an air purifier.
However, the space is quite cramped.

Toilet and washbasin.

Personal hygiene products.

As for the bathroom, it only has a shower, no bathtub.

Honestly, the second room is much smaller; once you open the suitcase, there’s hardly any space to walk. XD

The receipt for this day shows ¥14,600. Since it was a Saturday, the price was relatively higher.

This concludes the brief introduction to the Economy Twin Room.
