Kansai Airport is Japan’s second-largest airport and the first to operate 24 hours a day.
Due to the increasing number of tourists visiting the Kansai region, Kansai Airport has become insufficient to meet the demand.
Thus, Terminal 2 (KIX T2) was opened in 2012. Currently, Kansai Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 handle international and domestic flights.
However, for international flights, only Peach Aviation, Spring Airlines and JEJU Air use Terminal 2, while other airlines operate from Terminal 1.
Location of Kansai Airport Terminal 2
The location of Kansai Airport Terminal 2 (hereafter referred to as KIX T2) is shown in the blue area in the image below.
It is a 30-minute walk from Terminal 1. However, there is a free shuttle bus to AeroPlaza, from where you can walk to Kansai Airport Station.

Kansai Airport Terminal 2 Building
Since it has only one floor, there are no air bridges: passengers need to walk from the boarding gate to the aircraft.
Transportation to Kansai Airport Terminal 2
Because Terminal 2 was built later and is far away from Terminal 1, there is currently no tram available. However, there are Limousine Buses available for external transportation.You can also take a free shuttle bus to the vicinity of Kansai Airport Station and then take the JR or Nankai Electric Railway to the Keihanshin area.
Limousine Bus
You can also take a Limousine Bus directly to Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe, Nara, and other places. The bus stops are located as shown in the image below.
There are 11 bus stops in total, numbered 0 to 10.
The bus to JR Osaka Station departs from stop 1, the bus to Kyoto Hachijoguchi departs from stop 2, and the bus to Tennoji and Osaka Uehommachi from stop 8.

Limousine Bus Stop 1
For ticket purchases, there are staff available to assist, as well as ticket counters and automatic ticket machines.
To reach the Limousine Bus stops (numbers 5 to 10) at Terminal 2, you need to cross the road.
Free Shuttle Bus
There are two types of free shuttle buses: one to Terminal 1 and one to the Kansai Airport Ferry Terminal. Both shuttle buses are free, but to take the bus to the Ferry Terminal, you need to purchase a high-speed ferry ticket.
Below is an introduction to the shuttle bus to Terminal 1 only.

The shuttle bus route is: Terminal 1 → Domestic Boarding Area → International Boarding Area.

Where to get on/off
The shuttle bus has two boarding points and one alighting point at this location.
The boarding areas are divided into two: one for domestic flights (located at the bottom of Area B in the map below) and one for international flights (located on the left side of Area C in the map below)
Get on/off Area for Terminal 1
The get on/off area for Terminal 1 is in the same location, situated on the first floor of the south wing of AeroPlaza. Its relative position is shown below. When taking the JR or Nankai Electric Railway to Kansai Airport, head to the right. However, you won’t see the shuttle bus stop immediately upon arrival.
You need to walk a short distance to reach the get on area.
From Kansai Airport Station, take the second-floor skybridge, pass some shops, and then take the escalator down to see the get on area.

Timetable
The bus operates 24 hours a day, but from midnight to 4 AM, there is only one bus per hour. The travel time is approximately 7 to 9 minutes.

The international terminal is between B and C. B is where you go when leaving Japan to check in for your flight, while C is where you arrive when entering Japan.
The following sections describe the routes for entering from abroad and preparing to depart
Entering from Abroad
When arriving at Kansai from abroad via Peach Aviation or Spring Airlines, you enter here.
After passing through immigration, collecting your luggage, and clearing customs, you will see this scene upon entering.
Upon reaching the lobby, you will immediately see the exit. On the left is the Limousine Bus counter, and on the right is the Spring Japan Travel counter (where you can buy discounted fast boat tickets for foreigners).

With your back to the arrival gate, the KTIC T2 service point is on the left.
They sell a variety of tickets, including the Osaka Amazing Pass for one or two days and the Expo version.
Additionally, there are tickets issued by Keihan and Kintetsu Railways for foreigners (excluding the Ikaruga One-Day Pass).
On the right, this area is set up by Izumisano as “Kanku Machidokoro”.
The main services offered include selling tickets: Osaka Metro One-Day Pass, Osaka Amazing Pass, Kansai Thru Pass, and Osaka Wonder Loop Bus tickets.

Preparing to Depart
Route from Terminal 1 to KIX T2
At AeroPlaza next to Kansai Airport Station, head this way.

After crossing the second-floor skybridge, you will reach the main building. You can choose to walk outside or inside.
Walking inside avoids exposure to the elements, while the outside route is slightly shorter.

If you go straight, there is a Lawson or hotels (Nikko and First Cabin Capsule Hotel).
To take the shuttle bus, turn left.
After a short walk, there is a lounge on the right.
Using the Kanku Member Card offers discounts for resting in the lounge.
Upon entering, you will pass by several shops.
On the right is Applause, which has a section dedicated to local specialties from the Senshu region of Osaka.
The bottle with the arrow in the image below is a hot pot dipping sauce recommended by Director Wang, who lives in Senshu, Osaka Prefecture.
This is a common dipping sauce for hot pot in Japan, but it is a bit spicy.
So, I bought a bottle to take home.
Whenever I crave Japanese hot pot at home, I use this sauce! Now it’s almost finished, and I regret not buying another bottle… (I forgot to buy it last time too).
At the end of the walk, exit the building and take the escalator down.
After coming down the escalator, you will see the waiting area. Line up in order.
The shuttle bus has “連絡バス 第2ターミナル行” written on the front.
When the door opens, you can board. The space inside is small, but there are seats available.
After one stop (about 7 to 9 minutes), you can get off.
After getting off, walk straight to the international check-in counters. Walking back leads to the domestic counters. The image below shows the international terminal’s departure hall.
Entering the departure hall, you will see the Spring Airlines check-in counter on the left.
On the right is the Peach Aviation counter.
After completing the check-in procedures, head right towards the departure gate.
The route passes by restrooms, lockers, and vending machines.
At the end, you’ll see the departure sign.
On the left, there are many capsule toy machines ready to empty your wallet!
Turn right to head towards the international departure gate.
Before reaching the departure gate, there are computers available for use (paid service).
Keep walking, and the departure gate will be on your left, where you need to go through security first.
After passing security and immigration, you can board your flight.
If you’re not flying out, keep walking, and on the right, there’s an information desk.
To the right of the desk is the registration area for the Kansai Airport membership card.
To redeem the Kansai Airport membership card, you need to use the registration machine.
Keep walking, and you’ll return to the arrival area where you first entered.

A1: Currently, there are no plans for JR and Nankai Electric Railway to extend their lines to KIX T2,
