Do you need a scooter to see Kaohsiung’s night views?
If you’re planning to visit spots within Kaohsiung City, taking the MRT will get you there easily! Kaohsiung currently has two main MRT lines, complemented by the Kaohsiung Light Rail and the MRT-like stations of Taiwan Railways. Known as the “Heart of the MRT,” it is the largest circular station in the world. Its most famous feature is ” the Dome of Light”, created by world-renowned artist Narcissus Quagliata, which is the largest glass mosaic artwork in the world.

MRT: Take the Red or Orange line and get off at “Formosa Boulevard” station.

The building, which cost 1.5 billion NTD to construct, features a large glass curtain wall paired with a steel structure. When lit up at night, the internal lights shine through the building, making it a captivating sight. The library’s rooftop has a “New Bay Garden” where you can overlook the night view of Kaohsiung Harbor, a must-visit for those stopping by.

The Dadong Arts Center, located in Fengshan District, Kaohsiung, opened in 2012 and gained fame as the filming location for Jolin Tsai’s MV “The Great Artist.” The center features minimalist architecture with exposed concrete and a semi-transparent membrane canopy, complemented by large glass panels. At night, the center uses various lighting effects to create a stunning visual display, making it a highly recommended spot for night photography in Kaohsiung!
Dadong Arts Center

Dagang Bridge
Dagang Bridge is a landmark and highlight of the Pier-2 Art Center.
Located in the Pier-2 Art Center, Dagang Bridge is Taiwan’s first horizontally rotating landscape bridge and the longest rotating bridge in Asia. Inspired by the design elements of shells and dolphins, the bridge features a streamlined modern architectural aesthetic. At night, the bridge is illuminated with orange lights, making it a striking feature of the Pier-2 Art Center. It’s a perfect spot to sit by the waterfront with friends or a partner, enjoying the night breeze and the beautiful harbor scenery.
Dagang Bridge
MRT: Take the Kaohsiung Light Rail and get off at “Dayi Pier-2” Station.
