The Kobe Kitano area used to have many foreigners living here, so it has preserved some old houses with European and American styles.
That’s why the foreigner houses in this area are also called Kitano Ijinkan. “Ijinkan” refers to foreigners in this area.
The most common ones are the Moegi House and the Weathercock House.
The Weathercock House was built by Mr. G. Thomas, a German businessman who used to live in Kobe.
It is the only building with brick walls, and the wind vane on the spire is a familiar feature.
It has now become an indispensable symbolic landmark of Kitano-cho.
This was built in 1910, and it has a history of over a hundred years.
Honestly, you can’t feel its century-old history at the entrance, and it even seems quite modern…
The entrance is on the side.
Weathercock House ticket for both venues is only ¥600.
After entering, you will be guided by the staff to visit the original owner’s reception room in the designated direction.
It’s somewhat similar to a living room.
The restaurant is so big!
It’s really luxurious.
This photo is of the original owner.
Grown up a little bit.
Finally, when I grow old, I will come back and reminisce.
This seems like an old weighing scale and coffee grinder.
Children’s Room
Oh, where to have breakfast?
It’s different from the restaurant we just went to.
Go up to the second floor.
This and the weather vane on the roof look the same.
Oh, there’s a cafeteria on the second floor, how interesting…
After returning to the first floor, I discovered a hidden room next to it.
This room is the study.
There is also a bed in the study…
Above is a simple introduction to Weathercock House~
Because I really don’t have much feeling for the interior decoration of foreign houses, so don’t ask me if it’s worth coming to see.
For those who haven’t been here yet, just take a look at the photos and see if it’s what you want to see~
