Kyoto Japanese groceries Store – Kurochiku Tenshokan

There are many shops in Kyoto that sell Japanese groceries, dolls, and artworks.
One of the shops I spent the most time exploring is Kurochiku Tenshokan (Japanese: くろちく天正館), located near the Kyoto Municipal Subway – Shijo Station or Hankyu Railway – Karasuma Station.

Circular bamboo shape, it should be their logo, right~

Upon entering, you will see many dolls (Japanese: 人形).

So this doll is actually called “Muga” (Japanese: 無我)

It is said that this type of doll is called “Ichimatsu Ningyo” (Japanese: 市松人形).
Its history dates back to the Edo period and it is based on the famous Kabuki actor, Sanogawa Ichimatsu.
(If there are any mistakes, please correct me.)

This doll is called “Ko-omote” (Japanese: 小面), but because there are many dolls inside this shop, I’m afraid that many children will have nightmares if they see too many, so I won’t put too many of them here. Honestly, I dare not have such dolls at home. I always feel like something strange will happen at midnight, such as the head falling off or hearing crying sounds… XD

There are quite a lot of groceries sold here.

A little doll costs ¥2940…

There are also many bags here.

Unfortunately, I don’t have much artistic talent, otherwise it would be nice to buy this and decorate it at home.

Socks

Handkerchief

It feels like something that is only used for festivals~

This is the situation inside the store because there are still quite a few pillars, so it is not possible to capture the entire view in one shot. So let’s take a look at it roughly~

Above is a brief introduction of Kurochiku Tenshokan~
