Nantou: Taiwan’s Cutest Lantern District! Kanahei’s Small animals Appear at the ‘2023 Nantou Lantern Festival’ – 3D Fireworks Show and Drone Performance Steal the Show

Join the Kanahei’s Small animals to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit! The “2023 Nantou Lantern Festival” is set to bring a healing touch on January 14th. This year, the festival is planned around the theme of “Splendid Light Weaving Trends”, featuring three major themed lantern areas and 13 unique lantern zones. There’s also the spectacular “Drone Fireworks Show”, where the cute Kanahei and Piske will light up the Nantou night sky, sending blessings for the new year!

The 2023 Nantou Lantern Festival is teaming up with the Kanahei’s Small animals, doubling the cuteness factor! As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by a large Kanahei’s Small animals archway titled “Journey Through the New Year”. The Usagi and Piske are there with open arms to welcome all visitors! The 15-meter high main lantern and 7-meter high secondary lantern are sure to catch your eye, and there’s even a special Kanahei’s Small animals lantern area to explore. On-site, you’ll also find Kanahei’s Small animals-themed red envelope bags, commemorative coins, and other merchandise. It’s a fun, shopping, and photo-worthy experience!

The 15-meter tall main lantern, themed “Colorful Rabbit Bestows Blessings”, is crafted in the traditional lantern style and looks truly spectacular. The secondary lanterns, Piske and the Usagi’s Wealth Attraction” and “Dragon Colt Soaring Brilliance”, are equally adorable and soothing!

This marks the first time that the “urban-style lantern festival” will be held in Taipei. Themed “Light up the Future”, the festival will feature four major exhibition areas, one main lantern, six secondary lanterns, and span a whopping 168 hectares. With over 300 works on display and 12 administrative lantern areas linked, it promises to be an equally spectacular event.
