The hotel is called Lion’s Rock, with the addition of the words “Shinsaibashi” in its name. However, it is a bit far from the well-known Shinsaibashi shopping street. It is closer to America Village at night, with dimmer lighting and a slightly chaotic atmosphere due to nearby shops. However, its prices are relatively affordable. If you are a young, single woman visiting Osaka, I would not recommend choosing this hotel.
This is Lion’s Rock in the American Village during the day, located on this street.
Hotel Exterior
The hotel building is quite peculiar, the entire structure is white, but the lower part is in dark tones.
This is the entrance, look~ There doesn’t seem to be any accessible space… And there seems to be a small vendor next to it, doesn’t feel very good.
Hotel Front Desk
Lobby, there are 2 computers available for use, and the counter is on the right side.
This is another computer, and the drink machine on the left is free in the morning. I think it’s the only good thing about this hotel.
This is a vending machine on the first floor.
Room interior design
The room looks dim with the lighting like this, but to be honest, the bed looks much nicer with just the addition of a red cloth.
The TV is not big, but at least it is LCD.
Compared to others, Vista Kyoto is considered relatively large.
What I can’t tolerate is that the bathroom here looks like this, especially the floor with these small tiles, it feels very old-fashioned.
The other parts are pretty much the same.
Accommodation Experience
I chose this hotel simply because it was cheaper. Secondly, I made a last-minute booking this time and it happened to be during a Japanese holiday, so the budget-friendly and conveniently located hotels were already fully booked… I had no choice but to book this one.
Advantages:
1. Free drinks in the morning.
2. Located right in the heart of America Village, perfect for shopping enthusiasts.
Drawbacks:
1. The bathroom feels outdated.
2. The entrance on the first floor lacks “accessible space”, so people with limited mobility or those carrying large luggage should take it into consideration.
3. The streets can feel chaotic at night, so be cautious.
