Renowned as one of Taiwan’s premier spots for viewing autumn foliage, Fushoushan Farm is often a challenging destination due to its remote location and the difficulty of securing accommodations. Despite the stunning photos available online, visiting in person is no easy feat. However, I had the chance to join a 24-hour photography tour, which eliminated the hassles of booking and transportation, allowing me to finally witness the beauty of Fushoushan.
Fushoushan Farm offers unique attractions and scenic beauty throughout the year, including plum blossoms, cherry blossoms, maple leaves, and cosmos, all beloved by photography enthusiasts. The surrounding areas, such as Tianchi sea of clouds, star trails, and distant views of the snow-capped Central Mountain Range, make it a paradise for photographers. Unfortunately, the long journey means that fully experiencing all these features might require some time.
The man-made landscapes of Songlu create perfect photography spots.
Rainy days bring a different charm to the maple leaves compared to sunny days, adding a poetic touch.
On this first visit to Fushoushan Farm, the most famous maple viewing spot “Songlu Villa” stood out. Its unique man-made landscapes, combined with the well-planted maple trees, create a seemingly natural and stunning scene, making it a coveted location for photographers.
Although it rained continuously on the day of the shoot, the beauty of the maple leaves was undiminished. In fact, the rain highlighted a different, more poetic aspect of the leaves compared to their appearance under the bright sun.
Night photography at Songlu added a touch of mystery.
A special highlight of this trip was the night photography at Songlu Villa. Using long exposure and supplementary lighting, we were able to capture the beautiful scenery. Despite the rain reducing some of the shooting opportunities, the unique experience of night photography made it worthwhile.
