It’s that time of year again to admire the tung blossoms. In the past, I always visited Tucheng to see the blossoms, but the weather was often uncooperative, leaving me with photos of fallen flowers on the ground. This time, I chose to go further to Xiding Road, where the blooming period is later. Although there has been some rain recently, causing the flowers to fall, the overall results were still quite satisfactory.
Entering from the direction of Xike Train Station, ride up the winding mountain road for about 5 minutes, and you’ll start to see some fallen tung blossoms along the way. While not densely packed, the overall scene is still quite spectacular. Stopping to slowly appreciate the fluttering “May snow” adds a special charm.
Attempting to use blind shooting by placing the camera close to the ground can make the tung blossoms appear more delicate.
Tung blossoms falling by the drainage ditch stand out particularly well.
If you enter from the direction of Jiuzhuang, there are fewer tung blossoms along the way. Therefore, if fellow enthusiasts plan to visit, it’s recommended to enter from the Xizhi direction.
This year’s tung blossom season is almost over, and with the continuous rain, the flower conditions might not be great for future visits. It’s advisable for those planning to go to check for updated information.
