About Nangang POPOP Taipei
The POPOP Taipei Taipei, originally known as the Nangang POPOP Taipei, was built in 1941 and ceased operations in 2004. Renovation began in 2018 and was completed in 2020. At the end of 2020, it reopened as the “POPOP Taipei Taipei,” combining features of a startup industry base and an innovative market, providing a platform for interaction between the startup community and local residents. The park not only has permanent exhibition spaces but also DIY cultural and creative markets, making it a great place to visit with family on weekends.
The outdoor plaza’s Bottle Cap Impression Landscape is probably the most striking photography spot at the factory. Use a 35mm or 50mm lens and shoot from a low angle to capture people with the scenery.
The outdoor corridors of the Nangang POPOP Taipei are also quite spacious, so walking between the buildings doesn’t feel crowded. The overall layout is well-planned. This area is also great for using mid-to-long focal lengths, such as an 85mm lens, to take portrait photos with a strong literary feel by blurring the background.
In addition to the Japanese architectural style mentioned above, most of the buildings feature gray and white cement walls. You can use the walls or glass windows as a backdrop and shoot with a 35mm or 50mm lens for excellent results.
