In anticipation of the upcoming Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival, an 18-meter tall inflatable Machiko has made its adorable appearance in the waters behind the Kaohsiung Museumo fProducts. With its hands raised high, Machiko welcomes everyone, becoming the cutest photo spot! The Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival will take place from January 26th to February 5th. However, Machiko has already made its debut, so fans, hurry up and pay your respects!

At the Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival, two differently designed “Machiko” serve as the main aquatic and terrestrial lanterns. These creations are specially designed by Yukiji for the 2023 Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival. One rabbit is situated on the Lotus Pond, while the other is lounging on the grass at the old Zuoying Junior High School, waiting for fans to come and play! The Machiko, leading their animal friends, are set to charm visitors at the Lotus Pond, celebrating the Spring Festival with everyone!

 The 2023 Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival will be held at the Lotus Pond in Zuoying, Kaohsiung. The local landmark, the “Dragon and Tiger Pagodas”, will also become a part of the festival, illuminated in a way that presents a different face from the past. The surrounding temples will also join in the lantern lighting activities, incorporating cute elements into the traditional landscape, leading everyone to appreciate the unique charm of Kaohsiung.

 In addition to the 18-meter tall rabbit lantern, the first wave of light installations at the 2023 Kaohsiung Lotus Pond Lantern Festival, “Dreamy Reed Light Sea,” has already been lit up along the shore. The soft lights illuminate the night, creating a dreamlike atmosphere that is absolutely stunning to behold!

 In addition, the adorable Year of the Rabbit lantern, “Hsiung meets Rabbit,” will make its debut at Kaohsiung’s Lotus Pond. This lantern is inspired by paper dolls, and the accompanying clothing accessories feature various Kaohsiung motifs. You can even hand-draw or write messages on it, customizing your own Lantern Festival lantern! The beloved “Hsiung meets Rabbit” lantern will be distributed at 5:30 PM on January 26th at the Kaohsiung Products Pavilion’s back plaza, Lotus Pond Children’s Park, and Zuoying Confucius Temple, among other places. Each person is limited to two lanterns, and quantities are limited, so don’t miss out!
