【Aomori Prefecture】Walk around Lake Towada in winter

It is a good choice to take a walk by the Lake Towada in the morning. However, unlike the brave Laura, I slept in until almost late and only got up then…

Heading towards Lake Towada from the hotel, it seems like most of the shops along the way are closed. With the snow piling up like this, there’s no need for them to be open… XD

The shrine also offers a brief moment of tranquility.

The following is the torii gate leading to the Towada Shrine.

Footprints on the snow, this is not a warning for bear sightings!!

The Komainu in front of the shrine looks particularly interesting because it has accumulated some snow. This one is a-gyo, and its horns are covered by the snow.

Un-gyo is a snowy figure with eyes and a mouth.

The trees here can’t be covered in snow like the Juhyo (hoarfrost-covered trees) on Mount Hakkoda.

However, the green leaves have also been dyed white, which looks quite beautiful, especially the snow accumulated on the tree trunk, all pointing in the same direction~

Companions are getting farther and farther away.

Even the index finger is covered.

This is still the torii gate of Towada Shrine.

This is also the (third) one.
After passing through this torii gate, you can climb up and take a look at the shrine.
However, time is limited, so I can only feel a bit regretful.

Covered in snow, the staircase reminds me of the days I spent practicing at Mount Kurama during winter.

The ground is no longer a flat snowy field, but has tracks that resemble small hills, as if someone has pushed a large ball through.

Just like a desert, it should be caused by the wind.

Arrived at Lake Towada, this is the most famous Maiden Statue of Lake Towada.
These two naked statues are actually the same, just placed in opposite directions.

From another perspective, it’s so cold to be naked.
I really admire those who can pose naked in the icy snow…
They’re so impressive!

The Lake Towada in winter is beautiful. The shore is covered in snow, while the lake further out is filled with floating ice.

To be honest, you have to be careful when coming here.
Although it’s easy to distinguish between floating ice and snow, if you’re not careful, you might fall and instantly become Jack.
(There was a fleeting thought for about 0.1 second, I wanted to jump into the lake…)

Unfortunately, I didn’t take a good photo~ XD

When you turn back, you can see that the mountains are also covered in white snow.

Long, two tire tracks~

Above is the situation of strolling around Lake Towada in winter~
