Lake Towada becomes sparsely populated in winter. In order to promote tourism, the Lake Towada Winter’s Tale event has been held for 14 years now, starting from this year (2012). It’s fortunate that I can come here to witness this event.
This event takes place next to the Lake Towada Elementary School, so it’s just a short walk away. There are many light decorations here.
There are many lights here
There are many small snow houses here. It feels quite special to see snow houses for the first time with my own eyes.
You can also warm up your body by drinking alcohol in the snow house.
There is a snow house, and there is even a car inside~ Is this car meant to stay inside for the whole winter?
If you want to confess in the church, please hurry up and join the queue.
Inside this church, there are decorations, it’s not just a church with a cross.
Inside this snow house, there is also a fortune-telling activity where people draw lots.
However, there was a European and Japanese person who stayed inside.
I went in but couldn’t stay for more than 3 minutes, so I came out.
Some snow houses even have ice sculptures.
I have seen some snow houses like this before, with warm blankets to cover yourself.
Unfortunately, the seats were full and I couldn’t go up and lie down to have a look.
Here is a professional photographer available to help with taking photos, but it costs ¥1000 per session.
The current temperature is -9 degrees.
There is a corridor here illuminated by lights, resembling a small galaxy.
When there’s a festival, you must visit a bustling night market to set up a stall.
The things they sell are quite diverse, but unfortunately I just finished eating.
There are still many shops here, so there’s no need to worry about what to eat.
I have circled around once.
This is a heart in front of the stage.
During the Lake Towada Winter’s Tale event, fireworks are set off for ten minutes every day.
Although they may not be as grand as the fireworks in Taiwan, they still look quite spectacular up close.
Moreover, the fireworks burst right above you, which feels quite nice.
The following photos were taken without a tripod, so they couldn’t capture the beauty.
Please understand.
Finally, there will be some performances on this stage, but I only got to see the Taiko performance.
I didn’t see the Shamisen performance because I thought the event was over~ XD
Finally, I will attach the situation I captured with my mobile phone. I have uploaded it on Youtube (click here to go).
Please forgive the shaking as I was holding the phone with my left hand and my camera with my right hand.
